Your instructor, Rana Kennelly, is world renowned for her artistic, less-is-more approach and her unwavering commitment to safety. In this day-long introductory session, Rana will conduct a series of lectures accompanied by video on her signature approach, as well as on the how-tos of establishing a career in this profession where demand continues to grow.

What You Will Learn: This session provides strong theoretical and practical background on neuromodulators and facial fillers. It covers such crucial topics as understanding beauty concepts, aesthetic product characteristics, facial anatomy and facial filler placement with an ongoing emphasis on safety, risk prevention and how to manage complications.

The Agenda:

Session 1: What is Beauty?

Rana explores the common perceptions of beauty and share insights into developing the aesthetic eye of a fine artist.

Session 2: Product feel & characteristics  

There are many aesthetic products on the market. Rana will breakdown best product choice for facial presentation.  Education In a way that you can understand & share with your patient during consultation.  

Session 3: Facial Anatomy Made Accessible

To achieve consistent and safe results, practitioners must understand facial anatomy, including facial blood vessels, nerves, fat pads and musculature. Rana breaks it down and also covers optimum placement of facial fillers & neuromodulators in lower risk areas & caution in high risk areas

Session 4: Safer Facial Zones with Facial Filler

This segment covers product placement and injection techniques for lower risk areas for facial filler. Relating injection technique to injection anatomy for optimum outcomes and safe results.

Session 5: Full Face Neuromodulator

Rana shares her signature approach to delivering natural, safe and beautiful results for the entire face with neuromodulators. You’ll learn fundamentals of safe neuromodulator injections for the glabella, forehead, crows-feet, brows, bunny lines, lip flip, sad mouth and pebble chin. You’ll also learn how to prevent and manage neuromodulator complications.

Session 6: Injection Safety

Although rare facial fillers come with risk. Rana believes in providing complete transparency regarding risk, prevention and management of complications. This segment will cover the essentials every provider must understand to treat patients with complete confidence, including informed consent, safety algorithms and first aid checklist.

Session 7: Next Steps

Now that you’ve made an investment in your new career, you’ll explore next steps for connecting with and impressing prospective employers. You’ll also receive a roadmap for further education and professional development, designed to accelerate your success. Guest speakers Health care attorney Alex R. Thiersch, JD and insurance broker Helene Berns will share thier knowledge so you know how to be ‘covered’ in your new scope of practice.

 

About Guest Speakers

Alex R. Thiersch, JD, is a Chicago health care attorney who represents medical spas, plastic surgeons, and aesthetic medical professionals. He is the founder and CEO of the American Med Spa Association (AmSpa), which was created for the express purpose  of providing comprehensive, relevant and timely legal and business resources for medical spas and medical aesthetic physicians throughout the United States. Thiersch is also a partner at ByrdAdatto Law Firm. ​Helene Berns is a Vice President of Associated, one the premier insurance brokerages in the Midwest. Associated has been in existence for 130 years and owned by the same family since its inception. They are noted in Cranes for being one of the top 10 insurance brokerages in the Midwest and amongst the top 100 in the country. Helene has been with Associated for 11 years. Her vast book of business includes all lines of coverages in the commercial/business and personal lines of insurance. 

She maintains a large portion of her clientele in the medical industry, and has established herself as one of the experts in medical malpractice insurance as well as all the business related coverages needed to own  or work in a medical practice. 

Through a consultative approach Helene partners with her clients to handle all of their risk management and insurance needs. Included in her services is building her clients insurance portfolios to make sure they are covered in all areas where they bear risk. She also partakes in insurance contractural reviews, including leases, certificates of insurance, and business contracts. She actively will partake in the negotiating of complex insurance requirements and advising on risk transfer and other insurance needs.

Fees and Deadlines

  • Registration: $1,500 (includes lunch)

Safe learning environment

We offer a safe, comfortable and intimate learning environment, maximum attendees are 30 participants. We encourage developing professional supportive relationships with each other during the event. Our goal is to build a community that empowers each other while authentically sharing and practicing safely. 

Do I need to bring anything with me? 

No. Handouts, paper and pen will be provided plus educational goodie bags.  

Is the program CME accreditation? 

No.

Location Details 

Soho House Chicago, 113 N Green Street, Chicago, IL 60607 Held in the Cinema/Screening room on the 4th floor.   Soho House Chicago is a private members club with a strict door policy. On registration your name will be added to the registered guest list at reception where you will directed to the screening room. Unregistered individuals may not attend or gain access to the private members area. 

Time 

Please arrive 15 mins early at 8.45am for registration. The event will start promptly at 9.00AM. We will have a 45min lunch break together. Please enjoy the two lower public levels of Soho House where you can enjoy a drink, meal or collaborate with your aesthetic peers. Please note you do not have access to the upper private levels of Soho House except the 4th floor during the workshops unless you have a hotel room at Soho House.

Drinks only as the screening room does not allow food.

Is this a hands-on injection training? 

Live injections will not be performed although video demonstrations will be shown.
